Bennu / Your privacy
Privacy at Bennu.
Bennu is a place to read conversations and listen to the podcast. Here is what happens when you use this website, without mixing it up with the separate Flux Forward app.

When you visit the website
Bennu is a public, static website. You do not need an account to read or listen. The Bennu website itself does not offer a sign-up, contact form, payment form or comments.
Cloudflare delivers the site and helps keep it secure. Website requests can include technical information such as your IP address, device and browser details, the page requested and the time of the request. This is used to serve pages, protect the site and investigate technical problems. Our legal basis for necessary site operation and security is legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Audio and your place in an episode
When you play an episode, your browser requests its audio file from media.fluxforward.world. Technical request details are processed by the delivery infrastructure to stream the file.
The Bennu player also remembers where you stopped listening, so you can resume. It uses one entry in your browser's local storage, named bennu:position, containing the audio file address and your playback time. This stays on your device, not in a Bennu account. It is replaced when you listen to another episode and removed when the episode finishes. You can clear it in your browser settings.
Cookies and analytics
Bennu's own website code does not load Google Analytics, PostHog, advertising pixels or other marketing trackers. The audio resume feature uses local storage, as explained above, rather than an analytics cookie. Cloudflare may use necessary security cookies as part of delivering and protecting the website.
Other websites and platforms
Bennu links to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Castbox, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and Flux Forward. Choosing a link takes you to that service, which has its own privacy practices. The Bennu pages do not embed those services' login or advertising widgets.
Storage, retention and locations
Your playback position remains in your browser until you finish that episode, replace it with another position or clear your browser data. Bennu does not maintain a website account or a personal listening-history database.
Cloudflare’s HTTP request analytics can contain the request time, IP address, country, host, path and response details. For the current Bennu configuration, Cloudflare retains this data for at least 31 days and permits dashboard queries covering up to 30 days at a time. Cloudflare operates an international network, so some processing may take place outside the European Economic Area. These transfers are covered by Cloudflare’s Data Processing Addendum and EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
If you email us, we use your address and message to respond. Correspondence is retained as needed to handle the exchange and any applicable legal obligations.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict your personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or request portability where it applies. Send a request to [email protected]. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
You can also make a complaint to the Dutch data protection authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Other Flux Forward services
This page covers bennu.community. Flux Forward's app and other services handle different information. Read their separate privacy policy when using those services.
We update this notice when Bennu's website practices change.
